Course Goal / Objective

Understanding the architectural tradition in the early Islamic states and the Turks

Course Content

Concepts related to art, Islam's view of art, factors affecting Islamic art, the birth and development of mosque architecture, the architectural features of the first form of the Masjid an-Nabawi, the architecture and features of mosques, madrasahs, tombs and caravanserais in the Umayyad, Abbasid and Seljuk periods.
