Course Goal / Objective
This course aims to enable visual arts teacher candidates to make evaluations by examining the process of Contemporary Turkish art from its formation to the present day through “artistic developments”, “artistic phenomena”, “art movements”, “artists” and “works of art”.
Course Content
Turkish traditional arts, westernization movements in Turkish art, Turkish art in the Republican period, groups in Turkish art, developments in Turkish art in the 1940s, modernization process and visual culture, artistic environment in Turkey and in the world after World War II, Contemporary Turkish Art in the 1960-1980 Period, Economic, Political, Cultural and Artistic Environment in Turkey and in the World in the Post-1980 Period, Contemporary Art in Turkey in the 1980s, Galleries, Museums and Art Fairs in Turkey, Istanbul Biennials, Turkish Artists' Expansion to World Art.
