Course Goal / Objective

The aim of this course is to explain to students the prehistory of the large region defined as Cilicia, extending from Antalya to Syria, including Adana, where the university they belong to is included.

Course Content

In this course, the behavioral patterns, economic, social situations and communications of human communities, from the beginning of the Pleistocene through the Holocene, in the geography defined as Cilicia, are covered.

Course Precondition

Must have been chosen by five or more students.

LO05 The student explains the roles played by Cilicia in Epipaleolithic discussions in archaeology.
LO06 Students list the situations and effects of the beginning and spread of agriculture and animal husbandry in the geography of Cilicia.
LO07 Students learn about Cilician Neolithic communities and their effects on other periods.
LO08 Students compare the social and economic structures of the Chalcolithic Cilician communities with those of communities of the same period in other geographies.
LO09 Students list the events that influenced the cultural flows of human communities in Cilicia throughout the temporal framework of the lesson.
LO10 Students explain what Cilicia's resources were in its early commercial activities.
