Course Goal / Objective
The goal of the course is introduction of prehistoric farming and pastoralist societies in the Balkans, the Pontik steppes, and the Caucasus, and their relations with surrounding regions.
Course Content
The course covers Holocene hunting-gathering societies in the Balkans and the Pontic steppe, the beginning of food producing economies in these same regions, and genetic, linguistic and archaeological evidence for migrations from the Pontic steppe into Anatolia, Central Asia and western Europe.
