Course Goal / Objective

The aim of this course is to make the distinctive character and social-cultural function of television as a system of meaning-production and mass media understandable and to provide students with a critical viewing practice.

Course Content

In this course, the functioning of television as a mass media, meaning production processes, social-cultural functions, forms of representation, effects on the audience and critical media literacy will be covered.
