Course Goal / Objective

In this course the influence of culture on several areas of psychology, especially on the field of clinical psychology, would be introduced. The influence of the experiences of disadvantaged groups on mental health would be discussed throughout the semester.

Course Content

The aim of this course is to explore the effects of culture on different areas of psychology, especially on clinical psychology. In order to achieve this aim, this course will first explore how culture, ethnicity, and gender influence personality, emotions, motivation, and intelligence, as well as how they relate to the experience and expression of psychological disorders.
