Course Goal / Objective
The aim of this course is to enable the student to learn and gain the ability to comment on the course of Islamic educational activities from the Prophet's period to the Ottoman Empire, how this education is carried out in line with which methods and principles, through which institutions, and what are the prominent educational debates in various periods, classical works on education and the thoughts of classical Islamic educators.
Course Content
Definitions and contents of concepts such as education, religious education, Islamic education, early educational activities, the institutions in which they took place, the basic characteristics of education before the madrasah, the thoughts of Muslim-Turkish scholars (Hoca Ahmet Yesevî, Yusuf Has Hacib, etc.) on education, the establishment of madrasas and their reasons, the basic characteristics of madrasah education, educational activities in the Seljuk, Ayyubid and Mamluk periods, classical Islamic educators ((Ibn Sahnevi, Yusuf Has Hacib, etc.). ), the establishment of madrasas and their reasons, the basic features of madrasah education, educational activities in the Seljuk, Ayyubid and Mamluk periods, classical Islamic educators (such as Ibn Sahnûn, al-Fārābī, al-Ghazali, Zernūjī and Ibn Jamāa) and their thoughts on education.
