Course Goal / Objective

The aim of this course is to teach transgenic animal technologies and genetic engineering methods, explain in vivo model development processes in experimental research, introduce assisted reproductive technologies and genetic modification processes, evaluate animal experiments within the framework of ethics and the 3R principle, and provide knowledge on the production and utilization of transgenic animals through biotechnological approaches.

Course Content

Transgenic animal production, products and technologies, embryology, superovulation, intracytoplasmic sperm injection, microinjection, somatic cell transfer (cloning), retrovirus mediated gene transfer, embryonic stem cell mediated gene transfer, next generation gene editing tools and their uses, transgenic animal by research topic design (selection of bovine, ovine, poultry, laboratory animals).
