Course Goal / Objective
Physicochemical characterization of nanomaterials; Exposure assessment assumptions for nanoparticles; Biodistribution and toxicity of nanostructures; Effects of nanoparticles on biological systems and environmental assumptions; It covers the effects of cabon and metal-based nanoparticles and quantum dots on aquatic organisms and the environment.
Course Content
Basic physical, chemical and biological principles at the nanometer level; Synthesis and modification at nano level; Properties of carbon, metal and metal oxide-based nanoparticles and quantum dots; Physico-chemical structures and effects of fabricated nanostructures; Measurement techniques used in the characterization of nanoparticles; Biotoxicity test setups; It includes ethical rules in nanotoxicity experiments with trophic transfer of nanoparticles in the food chain.
Course Precondition
To be a graduate of the Department of Biology, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Food Engineering, Fisheries.
