Course Goal / Objective
The student is aimed to comprehend the necessity of addressing environmental problems on a global scale independent of administrative borders and to search for solutions with this understanding. In this context, it is among the other objectives to have a command of the structures of national and international institutions, organisations and environmental organisations and the studies they carry out / policies they follow.
Course Content
Due to the necessity of evaluating environmental problems independent of administrative borders, their solutions require international co-operation. European Union (EU), Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), World Health Organization (WHO), World Wildlife Fund (WWF), World Conservation Union (IUCN), Policies of international environmental organisations such as Greenpeace (Greenpeace) and national environmental organisations such as Turkish Foundation for Combating Erosion, Reforestation and Protection of Natural Habitats (TEMA), Environment and Consumer Protection Association (ÇETKO), Turkish Environment Foundation (TÇV), Turkish Nature Conservation Association (TTKD), Association for the Protection of Natural Life (DHKD).
