Course Goal / Objective

The aim of the course is to develop students' skills in logic circuit design, analysis and implementation by learning the basic principles of digital electronics. The course aims to deepen students' conceptual understanding and strengthen their practical skills by adopting an approach based on the balance of theory and application. It also aims to provide students with an interdisciplinary perspective by exploring the real-life applications of digital systems.

Analog and Digital Concepts, Number Systems, Logic Gates, Boolean Mathematics, Karnaugh Maps, Designing Logic Circuits, Combinational Logic Circuits, Arithmetic Logic Circuits, Logic Circuit Technologies.

LO06 Simplify logic expressions and design circuits using Karnaugh maps.
LO07 Explains the working principles of decoders, encoders, multiplexers and demultiplexers circuits.
LO08 Explain the logic of half and full adder, subtractor and comparison circuits.
LO09 Compare the advantages and disadvantages of logic circuit technologies such as TTL and CMOS.
LO10 Performs the installation of digital circuits using simulation tools or in a laboratory environment.
LO11 Understands the impact of digital circuit design on technological developments in daily life and is open to innovations in this field.
