Course Goal / Objective

In this course, it is aimed that students comprehend the structures and working principles of alternating current (AC) machines, gain the ability to make calculations of asynchronous machines and synchronous machines in different ways of operation, have the knowledge of choosing the machine to be used in practice, and make installation, maintenance and fault detection of asynchronous and synchronous machines.

Course Content

Content of this course are; structure and running of asynchronous machines, apposite EMF in stator, slip and equivalent circuits components of asynchronous machines, power, efficiency and torque, drive analysis methods of asynchronous machines, structure, types, working principals of synchronous machines, EMF in stator and harmonics, analysis of equivalent circuits, regulation methods, analysis of parallel operation of alternators, , active and reactive load share, analysis of excitation current effects in no load and full load synchronous motors.
