Course Goal / Objective
This course aims to introduce the ingredients and components of cosmetic products to enable students to understand the effects of cosmetic formulas and ingredients on skin health. It also aims to raise awareness about the ability to analyze the content of cosmetic products, choosing the right product and the safe use of cosmetic chemicals.
Course Content
Definition and Classification of Cosmetic Products Basic ingredients of cosmetic products Product types and areas of use Cosmetic Ingredients Active ingredients (vitamins, antioxidants, herbal extracts, etc.) Preservatives and additives Beneficial and harmful chemicals for the skin Raw Materials Used in Cosmetic Products Oils, emulsifiers and stabilizers Perfume and essential oils Colorants and pigments Selection of Product Content According to Skin Types Ingredients suitable for sensitive, dry, oily and combination skin Hypoallergenic and dermatologically tested products Cosmetic Product Labels and Content Analysis Reading and evaluating product contents Certificates and legal regulations Natural and Organic Cosmetic Products Differences between synthetic and natural ingredients Organic cosmetics certificates and standards Safety and Allergy Tests in Cosmetic Products Effects of cosmetic ingredients on the skin Allergy tests and dermatological evaluations Within the scope of this course, students learn to analyze cosmetic product ingredients based on scientific foundations and make conscious product choices.
