Course Goal / Objective

To provide the understanding of the genre, its characteristics, subspecies in Turkey and in the world, the basic styles of the genre, and the understanding of the theoretical approaches related to the genre.

Course Content

Definition of documentary, historical development of the genre, documentary cinema genres, documentary cinema styles, basic trends and approaches in documentary cinema, history of documentary cinema in Turkey, new media documentaries
