Course Goal / Objective

Explain the basic pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic concepts. Learns the definition of the drug, the stages it goes through in the body and lists the mechanisms of action of the drugs. Comprehends the basic principles of absorption, distribution and excretion of drugs, mechanisms of action of drugs, factors that change drug effects, and undesirable effects of drugs.

Course Content

Fundamental concepts of drugs, drug administration routes, passage of drugs through biological membranes, pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic events related to drugs, dose-concentration-effect relationships, factors that change the effect of drugs, drug interactions
