Course Goal / Objective

To teach siting of nuclear power plant and hazardous waste disposal sites

Course Content

Siting of a nuclear power plant, history, unsuccessful nuclear power plant sitings, successful nuclear power plant sitings, siting along sea, lake and river costs, nuclear wastes, siting of nuclear/hazardous waste sites, geological, topographical and hydrogeological factors in siting, seismic analysis, determination of the safe radius, social factors, other methods, final site location
