Course Goal / Objective

The aim of this course is to introduce the shrimp farming sector and commercially important marine shrimp species and to provide information about their farming techniques, their feeds and feeding methods, the species suitable for farming and their farming strategies.

Course Content

Introduction to the shrimp farming sector, examination of marine shrimp species, broodstock management, larval rearing, nursery culture, preparation of rearing ponds, growing systems, feeds, feeding techniques in ponds, aeration systems, water quality management, harvesting methods and marketing topics are covered
