Course Goal / Objective

It is aimed to provide detailed information about probiotic microorganisms in aquaculture, to provide information about the selection criteria and application methods of probiotic microorganisms against fish pathogens, and to examine the role of probiotics used as functional feed additives in fish nutrition in the growth, immunity and disease resistance of fish.

Course Content

Definition of probiotics. Mechanisms of action of probiotics. Selection criteria of probiotic microorganisms. In vitro methods used in the production of probiotics. In vivo evaluation of potential probiotic effects on the host. Application methods of probiotics in aquaculture. Application doses of probiotics in aquaculture. Importance of probiotic applications for aquaculture. Probiotic applications in the control of fish diseases. Immune effects of probiotics on aquaculture. Evaluation of current research on the application of probiotics in aquaculture.
