Course Goal / Objective
This course aims to convey and practically teach theoretical knowledge of molecular biology techniques used for various purposes such as diagnosis, establishing cause-effect relationships, and understanding mechanisms in different scientific fields.
Course Content
In this course, the structure and functions of biomolecules that make up living things will be discussed specifically for aquatic creatures. DNA, RNA, gene, chromosome, cell, etc. Definitions will be discussed and their functions will be learned. In addition, formation processes such as information transfer from DNA to DNA and from DNA to RNA, nucleotide language, amino acid language will be covered. Additionally, applications such as RNA and DNA isolation, cDNA synthesis, target region amplification and gene expression will be learned practically in the laboratory environment.
