Course Goal / Objective
At the end of the Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery internship, the trainees; will have the knowledge and skills to diagnose burns, facial trauma, extremity injuries, pressure ulcers, inform about prevention and apply emergency steps. Sufficient skills to diagnose patients with congenital anomalies such as cleft lip, palate and ear anomalies, to refer the patient and their relatives to the relevant specialist in a timely manner, to make a preliminary diagnosis in patients with skin tumors and to refer the patient to the relevant specialist, to know the stages of wound healing, to perform simple suturing and open-closed wound care. They will acquire appropriate attitudes and behaviors regarding professional and ethical values.
Course Content
Within the scope of this internship; Skill trainings such as taking anamnesis in Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery patients, applying special examination methods related to these diseases, suturing, wound care, interpreting direct facial radiographs, recognizing alloplastic materials used, theoretical lessons, file preparation, bedside training, seminars are included. . Interns follow the patients in the Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery polyclinic, ward and burn unit under the supervision of faculty members and assistants, learn about the applications, make observations, gain skills and monitor the surgeries in the operating room.
