Course Goal / Objective
The aim of this course is to provide students with knowledge and perspective about diabetes nursing in the world and in our country, to gain comprehensive knowledge about medical treatment and nursing care related to Diabetes Mellitus, to gain knowledge and skills about the management of diabetes and education of the individual with diabetes mellitus.
Course Content
Definition of diabetes nursing, duties and responsibilities of diabetes nurse, team approach in diabetes management,; Definition, Epidemiology, Importance and Classification of Diabetes, Diagnosis and Current Treatment Approaches in Diabetes, Self-Monitoring and, Acute / Chronic Complications of Diabetes and Nursing Care, Special Situations (pregnancy, sexuality, immunization, travel), Diabetes Management, Diabetes Education, General Health Recommendations and Counseling in Diabetes, Prevention in Diabetes and the Role of the Nurse, Examples of research on Diabetes Nursing are included.
