Course Goal / Objective

The Health Information and First Aid course aims to enable students to intervene effectively in emergency situations by increasing knowledge and skills related to health information and first aid, by increasing the ability to apply first aid techniques correctly and effectively, and by encouraging them to contribute to public health by demonstrating sensitivity, responsibility and ethical attitudes towards health information and first aid.

Course Content

Definition and purpose of health knowledge, health-related developments, disease prevention, methods of developing a healthy lifestyle, hygiene, harmful habits and effects for children and young people, common sports injuries in children and young people and ways of prevention. First aid, definition, purpose, decision making in emergencies, dressing and bandaging, transport, respiratory and cardiac arrest, injuries and bleeding, heat injuries, burns, poisoning, choking and drowning, fractures, and other musculoskeletal injuries, first aid in animal and insect bites. Information about the importance of first aid in accidents and traffic accidents.
