Course Goal / Objective
The objective of this course, it is aimed to teach the methods used in elucidating the structure of bioactive molecules and the techniques applied in these methods together with the strategies for elucidating the structure of bioactive molecules
Course Content
Molecular spectroskopy, Electromagnetic Spektrum, UV-Visible Spectroscopy, UV-Absorption bands of some pharmaceutical and chromophore groups, Applications of IR-spectroscopy in bioactive compounds, Interpretation of IR-Spectrums, IR-Spectroscopy in the Identification of functional groups in drug or bioactive molecules, Raman spektroscopy, Nuclear Magnetıc Resonance (NMR) Spectroscopy, Chemical Shift and Spin-Spin Interactions, Multiplicity of the signal, 1H-NMR 13C-NMR, 2D-COSY, DEPT, HETCOR, NOESY ve nOe differences techniques, . Interpretation of NMR Spectrums, Use of NMR spectroscopy for structure elucidation of bioactive and drug molecules, MS Spectrometry, Spectrums evaluation and use of structural determination in drug and bioactive molecules. Single crystal X-ray spectroscopy and its use in structure determination, Use of Combined Spectral Analysis Methods in the analysis of drugs, bioorganic and bioactive compounds. Identification of stereochemistry in bioactive molecules. Determination of chirality in bioactive molecules
