Course Content

Introduction (definition and importance of in vivo studies, the place of in vivo studies in the drug development process), Ethical principles of in vivo studies and animal welfare, 3R principle (Replacement, Reduction, Refinement) in in vivo studies, In vivo study design (Objective and hypothesis determination, experimental animal selection (species, gender, age, genetic characteristics, etc.), control groups and application methods, experimental protocol creation (dose, duration, route of administration, etc.), data collection and analysis methods), In Vivo Methods (Pharmacokinetic studies (absorption, distribution, metabolism, etc.) ), control groups and application methods, creating an experimental protocol (dose, duration, route of administration, etc.), data collection and analysis methods), In Vivo Methods (Pharmacokinetic studies (absorption, distribution, metabolism, elimination), determination of pharmacokinetic parameters (area under the curve (AUC), maximum concentration (Cmax), half-life (t1/2), etc.). Pharmacodynamic studies (effects of drugs on target tissues and organs, mechanisms of action, dose-response relationship and determination of therapeutic index, evaluation of side effects of drugs, toxicity studies (acute toxicity, chronic toxicity, genotoxicity, carcinogenicity, reproductive toxicity, teratogenicity)-I, In Vivo Methods (Pharmacokinetic studies (absorption, distribution, metabolism, elimination), pharmacokinetic parameters (area under the curve (AUC), maximum concentration (Cmax), half-life (t1/2) etc.). ) to be determined.
