Course Goal / Objective

The aim of this course is to enable nursing students to understand the epidemiology of infectious diseases, the chain of transmission, prevention strategies, and infection control principles; and to acquire the professional competence to plan evidence-based nursing care at the individual, family, and community levels.

Course Content

Introduction to infectious diseases, infectious disease agents, infectious disease, clinical features of infectious diseases, findings-indication, control, protection, hand hygiene, immunization, epidemiology of infectious diseases, airborne, water and food, via skin and mucosa, , Blood and blood products and zoonotic infections, hospital infections and management, risk groups in infectious diseases, infectious diseases in international health, data sources and internet use
