Course Goal / Objective
Textbooks are one of the most basic variables of educational activities. For this reason, the quality of the textbook is seen as one of the important factors in the success of a course. Students who take this course gain the ability to evaluate Turkish textbooks in terms of form and content. They will recognize the formal and content elements of the Turkish textbook and gain knowledge and skills about how it should be.
Course Content
The place of a course book in teaching, as one of the most important material in a course. Introducing of external conditions (acts, regulations, types of schools, market conditions) and internal conditions (methods, characteristics of the field, set up conditions) , that build a course book and practices about them. To profit from accumulations about course book analyses in the world. Roles of important elements in course books, like language, theme unity, types and multiplicities of exercises, that aim testing and consolidation, text choices and multiplicities in Turkish lessons, page layouts and use of graphic elements; and present these on course books according to different concepts (old-new) Required works, that are necessary for each teacher candidate to evaluate a coursebook and prepare a evaluation report about the course book. Fort his course sample Turkish course bookes will be used, that are prepared in accordance to different curriculums since the foundation of Turkish Republic.
