Course Goal / Objective

At the end of this course, students will learn the mathematical concepts in the mathematics curriculum and the possible misconceptions that students may have about these concepts.

Course Content

Mathematical Concepts. Epistemological, psychological and didactic causes of misconceptions. Student difficulty, misconception, causes of misconceptions, difficulties and misconceptions encountered by students in teaching numbers, difficulties and misconceptions encountered by students in teaching algebra, difficulties and misconceptions encountered by students in teaching measurement, difficulties and misconceptions encountered by students in teaching probability, difficulties and misconceptions encountered by students in teaching geometry, solutions for eliminating misconceptions, student applications, evaluation of student applications
