Course Goal / Objective
The aim of this course is to analyze the informal economy from both theoretical and practical perspectives, to examine its effects on public finance, and to evaluate fiscal policy tools aimed at reducing informality.
Course Content
The course will cover the concept, types, causes, and consequences of the informal economy. It will evaluate its effects on public revenues and expenditures, tax losses, employment structure, the social security system, and income distribution. National and international fiscal policy practices to reduce informality will also be examined.
