Course Goal / Objective

The aim of this course is to enable pre-service teachers to recognize the potential of out-of-school learning environments (museums, science centers, parks, streets, virtual / augmented reality applications, historical places, etc.) in mathematics teaching, to design activities and implement applications in these environments.

Course Content

The concept of out-of-school learning, the theoretical foundations of out-of-school learning, its relationship with mathematics teaching, evaluation of learning spaces such as museums, nature, historical places, streets, virtual environments in mathematical context; math trails, STEM-centered field studies; designing and evaluating out-of-school activities with digital tools such as GeoGebra AR, MathCityMap.
