Course Goal / Objective

To introduce the cement technology, cement raw materials, and the process of cement.

Course Content

Cement raw materials, cement production stages, Cement classifications, standards, information on Turkey Cement Sector.

LO08 Determines physicial (unit weights, porosity, void ratio, degree of saturation, water content) and consistency (Liquid limit, Plastic limit, Shrinkage Limit and Plastisity index) properties by doing related tests and calculations
LO09 To teach the recognition of cement, classification, determining physicial, mechanic and consistency properties of cement.
LO10 Explains cement science, chemical systems and their interpretation, and basic cement knowledge.
LO11 Defines atomic structure and chemical bonds.
