Course Goal / Objective
The general aim of this course is to provide prospective teachers with knowledge about family theories, the importance, purpose and principles of family education and family involvement, family education models and practices, family involvement studies and family involvement barriers, determinants of family involvement, school-family-community relations and community involvement in education. In addition, it is aimed to develop the skills of planning, implementing and evaluating family and community involvement activities.
Course Content
Importance, objectives, principles of family education; family education models; family theories; family education practices in Turkey and other countries; school-family-community relations; importance and objectives of family and community participation; family participation studies (school and home-based activities), determinants of family participation, barriers to family and community participation; family and community participation in rural areas.
