Course Goal / Objective

Define the science of adolescent development from a historical perspective and summarize the developmental processes, periods, and transitions associated with adolescence from a biopsychosocial perspective, drawing on current research findings.

Course Content

The course will commence with an examination of the determinants of puberty and will subsequently address cognitive and socio-emotional development during adolescence. Approximately 75% of the course content will be derived from the prescribed textbook, while the remaining 25% will incorporate research findings published within the past three years on the subject matter.
