Course Goal / Objective

This course aims to enable students to comprehend the scope, significance, and application areas of intellectual and industrial property rights in the fields of interior architecture and design. Students are expected to gain awareness of their legal rights and responsibilities as designers, acquire knowledge on how to protect their creations through copyright, patents, trademarks, and design registration, and act responsibly within the framework of professional ethics and legal obligations.

Course Content

Definition, history, and legal foundations of intellectual and industrial property rights; content and protection mechanisms of copyright, industrial design, trademark, and patent concepts; infringement cases and legal processes in the field of design; legal protection and registration procedures for interior architectural works; national and international legislation; regulation of intellectual property in contracts; case studies from the design industry; and the relationship between professional ethics and legal frameworks.
