Course Goal / Objective
This course covers the components of transportation systems, travel demand, supply-demand balance, modes of transportation, and basic planning principles. It also introduces the methods and modeling approaches used in transportation planning.
Course Content
Overview of transportation systems, Classification of transportation modes, Main objectives of transportation planning, Concept of accessibility and transport connectivity, Interaction between land use and transportation, Data collection techniques for transportation planning and their evaluation, The traditional four-step transportation planning model, Management and regulation of transportation systems, Environmental impacts of transportation and sustainability considerations
