Course Goal / Objective

Waste Generation, Standards and Legal Regulations Regarding Solid Wastes, Site Selection in terms of Geotechnical Engineering, Geotechnical Index Properties of Wastes and Soils, Strength and Compression Properties of Wastes, Environmental Soil Investigation, Gas and Leachate Formation and Soil Structure Relationship, Domestic, Industrial Wastes and Soils Hydraulic Properties, Improvement and Stabilization of Existing Solid Waste Landfills, Geotechnical Design Principles of Solid Waste Landfills, Stability Analysis and Design of Solid Waste Fillings, Waste and Soil Settlement. Geotechnical Properties of Fly Ash and Its Use in Construction Applications, Examples from Application.

Course Content

Environmental pollution, which is becoming increasingly important today, the controlled storage of domestic and industrial wastes, the geotechnical design of the structures necessary for their storage, the controlled storage of industrial wastes, and their use in foundation engineering applications.
