Course Goal / Objective

The primary objective of this course is to equip technical personnel pursuing a career in civil engineering with the ability to recognize structures and their components. It also aims to develop their skills in selecting appropriate structural elements based on site conditions, architectural design, and other relevant factors.

Course Content

This course covers fundamental concepts related to structures, including site layout, precautions to be taken during foundation excavation, and suspension of buildings. Additionally, it examines essential structural elements such as foundations, walls, slabs, beams, lintels, girders, columns, stairs, chimneys, formwork, scaffolding, roofs, and joinery.
