Course Goal / Objective
The aim of this course is to introduce qualitative data analysis approaches used in science education research and to develop students’ skills in systematically analyzing, interpreting, and reporting such data.
Course Content
• Fundamentals of qualitative research • Data collection methods (interviews, observations, document analysis) • Coding and theme development • Content analysis, descriptive analysis, discourse analysis • Introduction to software tools like NVivo, MAXQDA • Research ethics • Reporting qualitative data • Example analyses from science education studies • Practice-based project work
