Course Goal / Objective

The aim of this course is to teach the basic physics of nuclear medicine, radnuclides and devices used in nuclear medicine. To demonstrate the applications of nuclear medicine devices.

Course Content

Nuclear medicine physics, instrumentation (radiation detection, anger scintillaston cameras), radiochemistry and radiopharmacy (production of radionuclides, radiation dose, biological effects of ionizing radiation, radiopharmaceuticals used in treatment), radiation safety in nuclear medicine (radiation safety program, source of radiation exposure, radiation legal regulations) , radiation dose, biological effects of ionizing radiation), improvement in patient care and quality, principles of SPECT and SPECT / CT (computerized single photon emission tomography, SPECT imaging), PET device, Clinical PET / CT oncology
