Course Goal / Objective

The course, which is fundamentally based on teaching the birth and development of modern Turkey, aims to provide accurate information about the Atatürkist Thought System, the history of the Republic of Turkey, and threats to Turkey and its implementation; to cultivate, strengthen, and unite Turkish youth around the Atatürkist Thought System, in an indivisible unity with its country, nation, and state; and to cultivate individuals who are rational, contemporary, honorable, hardworking, filled with love for their country and nation, and possess a personality encompassed by tolerance and humanitarian ideas.

Course Content

The proclamation of the Republic and political, social, and cultural revolutions; economic breakthroughs; problems that the Treaty of Lausanne could not resolve and their finalization; movements against the new order; attempts at multi-party life and their results; Turkish Foreign Policy during the Atatürk era; the İnönü era and the years of World War II; Türkiye's transition to multi-party life; the Democrat Party era and its aftermath; Kemalism and Atatürk's principles.
