Course Goal / Objective

The aim is to teach the fundamental theories and applications of radiation physics in relation to radiation therapy, diagnostics, and nuclear medicine. It also includes teaching the theory of absorbed dose due to ionizing radiation, the measurement of absorbed dose, the operation of active and passive dosimeters used in dose measurement, and how to perform dose measurements using TL, OSL, and film dosimeters.

Course Content

Measurement of ionizing radiation, X-ray beam characteristics, measurement of absorbed dose. Radiation dosimeters. Dose measurement with thermoluminescence dosimeter, dose measurement with optically stimulated luminescence dosimeter, dose measurement with film dosimeter.
