Course Goal / Objective

The aim of this course is to enable students to distinguish between quantitative, qualitative, and mixed research methods, select appropriate approaches according to research objectives, and evaluate research findings in accordance with scientific and ethical principles.

Course Content

This course covers quantitative, qualitative, and mixed-methods research approaches used in health sciences. Quantitative experimental and observational designs; qualitative designs such as phenomenology, case study, and grounded theory; and mixed-methods designs (sequential, concurrent, embedded) are examined. Data collection tools, data analysis approaches, validity–reliability / trustworthiness criteria, ethical principles, and health-related case examples are discussed.

Course Precondition

No prerequisites. (Introductory knowledge of research methods is recommended.)
