Course Goal / Objective

To teach ventilation planning, the techniques considered during planning, the calculation of the required air volume for mixed ventilation networks in mines, and to practice using ventilation software packages.

Course Content

This course covers the theoretical and practical foundations of ventilation engineering, a cornerstone of occupational health and safety in mining operations. The training begins with the physical properties of air and humidity measurement methods, continuing with airflow principles and basic network designs in underground structures. At the heart of the curriculum are the diverse ventilation requirements specific to both metal and coal mines; the analysis of complex networks, air distribution modeling, and modern analysis methods are addressed with technical depth. Upon completion of the program, students will gain the competence to control airflow in mines, solve network problems, and design a safe, breathable environment in compliance with legal regulations.
