Course Learning Outcomes
| Order | Course Learning Outcomes |
|---|---|
| LO01 | It classifies the components that make up intracellular signaling systems (ligands, receptors, second messengers, effector proteins) according to their structural and functional properties. |
| LO02 | Explain the different types of intracellular communication, such as endocrine, paracrine, autocrine, and juxacrine, and the physiological contexts of these types. |
| LO03 | Compares the ligand-binding mechanisms of membrane receptors (GPCR, RTK, etc.) and nuclear/cytosolic receptors and the cellular response differences they trigger, comprehends, analyzes, and discusses their positions in the pathological mechanisms in which they play a role. |
| LO04 | Interprets the regulatory roles of G-protein-coupled receptors and protein kinases in signal transduction at the molecular level, comprehends, analyzes, and discusses their positions in the pathological mechanisms in which they play a role. |
| LO05 | Evaluates the central role of the mTOR signaling pathway on cell growth, proliferation, and metabolism and its interaction with other pathways, comprehends, analyzes, and discusses their position in the pathological mechanisms in which they are involved. |
| LO06 | Explains how mechanical stimuli are converted into biochemical signals (mechanotransduction) through integrins and cadherins, comprehends, analyzes and discusses their position in the pathological mechanisms in which they play a role. |
| LO07 | Explains the functioning of canonical and non-canonical signaling pathways, which have developmental and homeostatic importance, by defining the critical nodes in signal transduction, comprehends, analyzes and discusses their positions in the pathological mechanisms in which they play a role. |
| LO08 | Relates and discusses the role of disruptions in signal transduction mechanisms (mutations, overactivation or inhibition) in cancer and other chronic diseases with literature data. |
