Course Goal / Objective

To educate students about blood transfusions and donation.

Course Content

Erythrocyte blood group antigens, blood groups and further investigations, compatibility tests, blood selection for transfusion suitability in patients with alloantibodies or autoantibodies, transfusion reactions related to blood group antigens, erythrocyte transfusion, preparation and storage, transfusion indications, erythrocyte product selection, special circumstances, side effects in transfusion, transfusion-transmitted diseases.

LO04 Students will learn about the methods used to perform infection tests that are mandatory in our country.
