Examining the artistic and cultural relations between the two sides of the Aegean Sea.

Course Content

The archaeology and history of cultures encompassing the Aegean world, Western Anatolia, the Aegean archipelago, and Greece.

LO01 By researching the natural environment and boundaries of the Aegean region's geography, it helps understand its sphere of influence.
LO02 They learn about the cultural and artistic aspects of the island of Crete and the Minoan Civilization.
LO03 The cultural and artistic aspects of Mycenaean civilization are analyzed, and its influence and artistic activities in the Aegean world are discussed.
LO04 In light of archaeological data from Anatolia, this book provides a detailed understanding of settlements, cultural and artistic characteristics, and intercultural relations in the 2nd millennium BC.
LO05 In the 2nd millennium BC, Minoan and Mycenaean art were compared and analyzed with the art of Western Anatolia.
LO06 This study identifies the cultures and artistic characteristics of the Western Anatolian region in the 1st millennium BC, and compares them with the civilizations of the Aegean Sea and its western coast.
LO07 By thoroughly researching Roman culture and art, it evaluates all aspects of world civilization that emerged in the first half of the 1st millennium AD.
LO08 This study analyzes the characteristics of Athenian Classical and Hellenistic culture, particularly in regions such as Ionia, Aeolia, and Doria in Western Anatolia, and their reflections, influences, and origins on East-West relations.
