Course Goal / Objective

The aim of this course is to train specialist nurses with advanced nursing competencies who can holistically assess the physiological, developmental, and psychosocial needs of critically ill patients monitored in pediatric emergency and intensive care units, make rapid clinical decisions in life-threatening situations, plan the care of children receiving ventilator support, manage the transport process, and implement evidence-based intensive care nursing practices.

Course Content

This course covers the organization and management of pediatric emergency and intensive care units, triage practices, assessment of critically ill patients, life-threatening conditions according to developmental level, care of ventilator-dependent children, safe transport of intensive care patients, current practices in intensive care units, care of terminally ill children, basic life support practices, interdisciplinary teamwork, and current scientific developments.
