Course Goal / Objective
The aim of this course is to train specialist nurses with advanced nursing competencies who can assess the physiological adaptation process of healthy and at-risk newborns, recognize common neonatal diseases, plan neonatal intensive care practices, implement a family-centered care approach, and translate evidence-based neonatal nursing interventions into clinical settings.
Course Content
This course covers newborn health indicators worldwide and in Turkey, transition to extrauterine life and healthy newborn care, assessment of at-risk newborns, respiratory and cardiac problems, gastrointestinal and nutritional problems, infections, endocrine and metabolic diseases, hematological and neurological problems, organization of the neonatal intensive care unit, newborn transport, ethical issues, individualized developmental care, discharge planning, family education, and evidence-based newborn care practices.
