Course Goal / Objective

The objective of this course is to teach the basic principles of systematic review and meta-analysis methods and to enable students to gain the skills to evaluate scientific evidence, systematically review the literature, synthesize data, and interpret results.

Course Content

This course covers introduction to systematic reviews, formulation of research questions, literature search methods, study selection, data extraction, risk of bias assessment, basic concepts of meta-analysis, effect size measures, heterogeneity, publication bias, interpretation of results, and reporting.
