The aim of this course is to enable students to rethink education from the framework of social justice, develop a perspective on social justice issues, analyze the social factors that are effective in the construction of social justice, examine international curricula for social justice education, and develop the ability to make arrangements for social justice education. In this course, both the current situation of social justice in the education system will be examined and the diversity in the social context will be analyzed in terms of individuals. In addition, the curricula being implemented will be evaluated, and at the end of the course, it is aimed to develop the adaptation and planning skills of the students to ensure social justice in education.

Course Content

This course focuses on analyzing how education can help create more equitable and just societies, contribute to quality education systems, and while doing so, examine it in terms of curriculum development. This course will primarily focus on the characteristics and foundations of social justice education, and then examine the curriculum examples for social justice education. Although the first topics of the course are based on gaining knowledge, it is also aimed to develop the students' planning skills at the end of the course. This course requires students to develop a high-level understanding of social justice and education.
