Course Goal / Objective
The core intent revolves around teaching the installation, usage, and dismantling principles of scaffolding systems that ensure a safe working environment at heights, alongside formwork setups shaping structural elements. We target building the student's capacity to supervise a secure site manufacturing process. They must recognize material properties practically, bypassing the need to get bogged down in complex calculations.
Course Content
Introduction to scaffolding and formwork architectures. Components of working scaffolds mixed with strict installation guidelines. Occupational health and safety specific to scaffolding operations. Traditional versus industrial scaffolding and formwork solutions. Formwork applications tailored directly to different structural elements. Form stripping timelines. Load-bearing scaffold frameworks. Tunnel and slip formworks. Health and safety in formwork operations combined with on-site defect analysis.
